Hello Tennis Players

The 3^rd annual Terry Wood Memorial Tennis tournament was held at Lakeshore Park

on May 3^rd and 4^th.  If you missed the event this year, you missed some good tennis and fellowship.  In spite of the rain, we managed to get all the matches in and finished up about

6 PM on Sunday.  All the players that signed up (on time) received a t-shirt and trophies

were awarded to the winners, finalists, and consolation winners in all divisions.  Thanks to

the sponsors of the tournament and the players, we managed to contribute over $2500.00

to the American Heart Association.

The winners in each division were:

• Men’s 3.5—Brian Anderson/Jim Elrod

• Men’s 4.0----Phil Johnson/Rick Lovelady

• Men’s 4.5----John Robison/Kirk Hemphill

• Ladies' 3.0---Robin Coffey/MacKenzie Fleming

• Ladies' 3.5/4.0--Mandy Welborn/Patti Defore

• Junior’s-----Adrian Orem

We had about 80 players participate which included about 20 juniors(a new division

that we added this year).Many thanks to Michel Bates and Lisa Douglas for all the

work they did to make this a success. We will probably have next year’s tournament

again on the 1^st weekend of May, so go ahead and mark your 2009 calendar now!!
